December Festivities

December was an incredible month. We were able to cram a whole lot of fun into a short amount of time. Here’s a quick recap of what we were up to:

  • December 3rd- Olivia performed in her first dance recital and was an ornament in, The Grinch. She basically just stood there. She decided to actually participate for the last 8 count of her routine. Steve bought her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and, afterwards, we took her to Sonic for french fries and a milkshake. So. Worth. It.
  • December 23rd- We went with Steven’s family to Windsor for the night. We drove into San Francisco and went to dinner at the Hard Rock Café on Pier 39. After dinner, we checked out the seals. They were trying to snooze and were ticked that we were intruding on their quiet time. I swear there was one seal ready to charge the pier.
  • December 24th- We spent part of the morning in Windsor. Steve and I enjoyed some time in the hot tub away from the little people. We went to Steve’s aunt’s house for Christmas Eve dinner. It was fun to be with the Sanchez family! That night we were visited by the jolly man himself. Yup, you heard that right. Santa made a little visit to Grandma and Grandpa Clegg’s house. Olivia couldn’t have been more excited! She squealed and bounced around the room! Noah was in shock and I’m pretty sure was expecting Santa to tell him that he was on the “naughty list.” Both of their reactions were priceless. Santa gave them each special Christmas Eve jammies and a candy cane filled with m&m’s. After Santa left we ran outside and saw Rudolf fly off into the night sky.
  • December 25th- Christmas morning was perfect! Liv ran downstairs with all the excitement she could muster at 6 o’clock in the morning! She was so happy that Santa came and shared her joy with everyone. We quickly ate sourdough waffles and rushed to get ready for church. Olivia and Brody looked darling in their Christmas outfits. The program was lovely and we were able to focus on the true meaning of Christmas. After church, we went back to Steven’s parent’s house to open our family presents. We had a wonderful day and enjoyed spending time with family.
  • New Years Eve- We met up with a few of Steven’s cousins at his cousin Eddie’s home. Eddie works at the State Capitol as a CHP officer and was able to take us on top of the Capitol building to watch the fireworks in Old Town Sac. It was an amazing experience. Afterwards, we went back to Eddie and Camellia’s house to officially ring in the New Year. We celebrated with Martinelli’s and party poppers! Playing The Last Word finished the evening’s festivities. We had such a great night!
